Ka Hmnd: Stories

A prince decides to become one of the elite special operation soldiers. Unfortunately since those in his team do not know who he really is things can become complicated. Like the private family feud with another empire royal family.

Being a noble's bastard was not easy. Standing up for yourself can have consequences. Showing the entire court my father is a liar gets me exiled to the border. I took my brothers and sister who was a lot like our mother and a consort. That was when the marauders struck the fortress and then an army from the neighboring kingdom.

I had been a human warrior fighting for and with the shining ones. I had been chosen to stay and guard Elvanhome with a handful of others. When the foul one struck I was the only one left to stand between them and the women and children. I fell that day but the king promised I would come back. I did not expect it to be many millennium before that happened or that I would be a sidhe. It was just in time for other foul creatures to threaten and strike.

I thought being in a plane would mean no walking... when my bomber exploded I was ejected. Of course I was all the way on the other side of the enemy's country. Now I had to turn my one way trip into a long walk out. A mistake showing gold coins to get food earns me a wife and someone else to care for on the way back.

The Ori empire had been great. It had fallen like most empires over time. It lay in three pieces now. Kane was the largest and where the capital had been. Alexander was smaller and in what had been the middle of the empire. Sax was to the east and almost as large as Kane. When a mage took the throne of Kane and decided to raid into Alexander it was only the start as they declared themselves the new Ori empire. / (Reviews)

Many millennium ago the Sidhe came together and argued. They were tired of the buildings made of stone and their people growing away from what they thought of nature. When they walked away and returned to the forests they were called the wild. Time passed and again the sidhe spilt, this time over ruling all. The sidhe slowly grew away from the buildings and back to the forest. Now the time has come for the last wild to return with a gift and a message.

I walked and hunted in the forests at home and now the forests here seemed familiar. Only instead of hunting animals it was enemy soldiers who were hunting us. A chance encounter to capture a mage turns things around. For him the war was over and I told him so and treated him fair. What I got in return was a reward for capturing him and when he agreed to talk I ended up with two girls. Now we are going back to that area to hunt larger game and I hope they are not as ready as we are.

I had a knack and was assigned to a new station. Only it was the start of a whole new life. I learned that there was real magic in the world and real magical creatures. Of course there was still crime which was why I was there. There was everything from shoplifters in a potion shop to a werewolf enforcer or a mage robbing a bank.
