A story in the Stories from the Hearth Universe
Imagine, you are 87 years old and it is literally your last night on Earth - non-negotiable. You have one opportunity to resolve one issue before you die. All of your family and all of your friends are dead. There is only one other person you care about and she is 60 years younger than you and has no idea that you love her. Oh, did I mention the Norse Goddess of Death is involved?
I will be posting a range of flash fictions of various lengths from really short to just a bit longer than short, but not a short story. They won't take you more than a few minutes to read in full but I hope you get a laugh, a tear or just some enjoyment out of them.

A The Chronicles of Dan Hayward Story (36) Dan's fifty-third birthday celebration goes horribly wrong. A teasing joke with Karen causes them to argue over her not facing her miscarriage. Karen leaves the party yelling they would all be better off if she was dead..."I sure hope Mom doesn't go and do anything stupid like hurting herself. She wouldn't, would she Dad, hurt herself...or possibly even kill herself?" Brad asked tears forming in his eyes. "Right now, Brad...I'm not so sure," he confessed.
A Dulcie Story (15) Dulcie's mother appears out of the blue, and another mother is looking for something she doesn't understand. Two women, twenty years apart... Once more, Dulcie needs al her faith and trust in God to find answers.
This is a story about a man who gave everything and had everything taken from him. It's a bit darker than my usual stuff. I put it in the romance category because of the ending. Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens so much to our soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen when they're deployed. As I said in my blog post, this is partially based on reality.
The life of Russ and some of the stuff he had to deal with. This story could fall into a half dozen different catagories. I don't want to give to much away.
Many of the same characters as those in Summer School. There are some tears, some drama and yes, some romance in this story. Hank Rawlings is still the teacher
