Kelly's Heroes is one of my favorite movies. So when I sat down to write this, I wrote it from a modern warfare perspective and put the first scene starting after they had the money and were escaping. The end of the story is what they did with the reward money. I left a bit of room for sequel, but I'll only write it if there's enough interest. A short story with no revenge or hatred of the other spouse. Just a quicky about two parents that saw the writing on the wall and thought of their kids rather than themselves...
This is a story about a man who gave everything and had everything taken from him. It's a bit darker than my usual stuff. I put it in the romance category because of the ending. Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens so much to our soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen when they're deployed. As I said in my blog post, this is partially based on reality.
This is not a long and involved story, it's short and not serious about anything. I sat down and wrote this just to try and clear the block in my brain so I can get going again on Eldest Son. Hope you enjoy it...
Project: Eldest Son picks up where Dominic's Heroes ended. This story follows Dominic and his team across Europe. They've been recruited and sheep dipped by the CIA to follow terrorist money trails to wherever it might lead them.
