A story in the Lacy Danube Universe
Ethan Dalton, a retired senator from Wyoming, needed to disappear. His young DC attorney - Logan Kelly, a former SEAL - heard a whisper about an understanding, and accommodating, town located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It would be costly, and both men knew it wouldn't be easy. The go-between was a high-level, but mysterious confidence artist currently named Lacy Danube. Mixed into all of this ... a blue-collar strip joint that changed the ethos of that little town down on the Gulf.

John Taylor (7)
When an army base in west Texas has a series of thefts and murders that threaten to derail military budget negotiations, the new president sends Taylor and Whitaker to find the culprits and quietly end the situation before it can become public knowledge. When they arrive, however, the pair finds that theirs is not the first investigation into the situation and that the previous attempts to stop the thefts failed because of criminals on the inside.

This is about the aftermath of war and people's sacrifices. He didn't want to leave his young wife but his sense of duty made him answer the call. Nevertheless, there are always consequences for every decision and his were very severe indeed. I try to post something every July Fourth to honor those who served. This one cuts a little closer to the bone than most. So, I hope you enjoy.
