A Cliche Story All of the cheating stories have their clichés - I came home unexpectedly - she (or he) stopped or slowed way down on sex - he (or she) started using anything for an excuse to start an argument - bills from hotels that you had not been to - gas receipts from areas that your spouse wasn't supposed be in. They are clichés because any and all of them have happened enough that they become somewhat commonplace reasons for adulterous divorces. Mine happened just that way.
A story in the All in Her Mind Universe
I was sitting on the deck sipping my morning coffee thinking over the conversation I overheard at the barbeque we hosted last evening.
A story about a search, forgiveness and justice, and how ideas and priorities change with the passage of time and events. Sometimes, after you've found a loved one you had lost, you need to find them afresh. Thirteen chapters, all finished and to be submitted every other day or so. Though told in the first person, it is completely fiction.
Annie wasn't naïve when she followed Tom to Serbia, but perhaps a little innocent. It was 1997, Communism had collapsed, and the Balkan Wars appeared over. It seemed the perfect time for a young couple to make their fortune, explore the world, and leave past disappointments behind. But Belgrade could be cruel to foreigners, and in the end, Annie's innocence would fall as its victim. Yet, she learned, the city had gifts had to offer too - gifts that could prove just as intense as its dangers...
