A bard starting out on his own travels to the Elven lands. He finds a human army already there and hunting wild elves. He saves a half elven girl and continues into the forest. At one of the few bridges over a deep gorge he meets Elves. They warn him to leave because the human army was coming. He could not let such as those invade the elven lands and stands before the bridge. He faces the army alone and holds them until elven hunters come.
A slave acts when their ship is captured by pirates. He knew touching or using weapons meant death and accepted it. What he got was freedom and a new life.
A story in the Kaire Universe
The move to Avalanche was to expand our clan. The world was huge with long and cold winters. Even meeting his mates for the first time does not stop the hatred of fanatics. When they bring their transport down and kill the pilot it is only the beginning. Now they must fight back and human fanatics are no match for a Kaire.

He finds the daughter and a young Kaire woman along the way and ends up claiming them using the Kaire customs. When he meets the family, he finds they are researching plant modification. Of course nothing is easy, first there are the two slave girls he saved and then there is his team who have decided to visit.

When a new terror begins to hunt soldiers I am offered a chance to earn a great deal plus my children being exempt from the draft. The new terrors are demons or creatures very much like them.
