In 1876, 10-year-old Annie Hightower was standing beside her father when he was murdered on the main street of Hendly Pass. She swore revenge on the murderer, no matter how long it took. Seven years later, she was able to begin her quest, dressed as a man and using the alias of Jack Highsmith. Romance rears its head in chapter 4, but there is still plenty of daring-do. This story is told in the third person, so there is no dialect except in the actual dialog, thus, it should be easy to read.

A young woman, still a teenager, becomes a widow and the Marshal of a small Texas town in the old West. Join her as she fights crime, finds another loving husband, becomes a successful bounty hunter, a mother, and a Marshal again. There are many surprises at Harmony Junction and other places. Imagine what a tough gunslinger thinks when he is arrested by a woman! Except where I goofed, there is no dialect in this story except in some of the dialog. / (Reviews)

Just a humorous flash story written for a very professional secretary who was doing the impossible, by noon, while suffering a variety of indignities. Brightened her day and is very popular with the secretaries in my area. That should be a warning to us all.
