Just a humorous flash story written for a very professional secretary who was doing the impossible, by noon, while suffering a variety of indignities. Brightened her day and is very popular with the secretaries in my area. That should be a warning to us all.

A Story in the Stanly Bromly-Gentleman Adventurer Universe
Stanly Bromly is back to dispense his special brand of justice to the pirates who operate off the coast of California in the 1850s. He's on a tear, so the bad guys had better watch out! This is the THIRD story in the series.

In 1876, 10-year-old Annie Hightower was standing beside her father when he was murdered on the main street of Hendly Pass. She swore revenge on the murderer, no matter how long it took. Seven years later, she was able to begin her quest, dressed as a man and using the alias of Jack Highsmith. Romance rears its head in chapter 4, but there is still plenty of daring-do. This story is told in the third person, so there is no dialect except in the actual dialog, thus, it should be easy to read.

Kitty Anderson is a remarkable young woman of 1905 Texas. She shoots an automatic pistol and has learned to drink BEER, though not much at one time. She drives a car and, oh, yes, is a Secret Service agent. She starts out on a big case, tracking down the Knights of the Golden Circle (really, look them up). She's also a Deputy US Marshal, but that's just her cover.

"Shotgun Jack" Green was a self styled Independent Health Contractor, commonly known as a bodyguard or gunslinger. What set him apart from most such people was his preference for a sawed off shotgun as his personal armament. This is the story of some of his adventures as a bodyguard, a deputy federal marshal, a gambler, and a rancher. His life may not have been typical, but it sure was exciting!
