This is a humor/satire reversal type of take-off, poking fun at the expected roles of men and women in our society. While it was written strictly for fun, it also makes you think!
This is a Victorian Cautionary Tale concerning two young people married to each other by order of their fathers, and for business reasons. Their wedding night, and subsequent events prove difficult for the uninformed youngsters, but they are helped by an older lady's maid.
The dialectic is a deep philosophical concept used, among others, by Hegel and Marx. It can be applied, as well, to the role of miniskirts and how best to appreciate them. At least, I thought so when they first appeared. It was, of course, a purely academic exercise to appreciate them and their wearers -- and actually did give cultural insight.
