This story is SF in the sense of 'speculative fiction' rather than space opera style science fiction. I can't really give much more of a synopsis than the intro of the story itself does: it says it all.
Not all that easy to get into at first, it took me a little while to catch on to what is going on. What is going on is not what one might think as the story starts, with Melissa doing trite little teenager things on her iPhone with her BFF.
There is a big thump, and then everything goes weird .... and it started to grab my attention.
If you enjoyed Donny Darko, if you enjoyed Groundhog Day, or Run Lola Run, if you have ever enjoyed stories of parallel universes and time travel you may enjoy how Melissa flits around forward and back through time and space (but never too far), all the while freaking out about only being only partially clad and having strange people show up in her bedroom ...
It's short. It's a wild ride, it's very unusual for SOL. Give it a go!
