Sixteen-year-old Claire Temmet has had enough of her mother's drunken episodes. She decides to run away from home and camp rough for a while in the country. But a fateful encounter leads to a night of fear and passion she will remember for the rest of her life.
A proud and prudish Catholic mom from the suburbs of Pennsylvania, Shawna Lynn McDonnell volunteers to act as a chaperone on the first field trip at her son's new school.
