Father's been away 3 years. His young family's meeting him at the airport. --- Bad Fred, said --- It's poignant, and you hit the right notes. If I didn't know it was your story and trust you, I would have drifted away in the first few paragraphs. It moved slowly. It was lovely, but it wasn't hitting my "what happens next?" buttons. Well, until the end when it all comes together. Readers who stick with it will be rewarded. Set in Australia.

I like hardboiled film noir, especially Raymond Chandler. Noir means "dark "and this piece is certainly that. I am exploring why people do self-destructive things. None of the characters are good. But none are bad either; with one glaring exception. I hope you enjoy - DT

A A Wifes tale Story
Part of the Life story universe
This is a long and convoluted story of a naive talented young artist, a marriage under attack and a husband's response to a predatory older world-wise man. It charts the attempted seduction of the wife. It builds up slowly. The original version of this story was edited by Romantic1. Blackrandl1958 was kind enough to edit this revised version. A big thank you to both of you.
