A Story in the John Carter Universe
This is the story of Oliver Brown, the Druid that replaced John Carter as the Grand Druid. It is a story of love and duty.
A Mannsborough Chronicle (6) Thule Roemer is a minor celebrity thanks to his pivotal role in the arrest and pending trial of Ivan and Randy Vandevoort. If that were all he were, life would be simple. But, he's also the owner of a security start-up, the hypoteneuse in a love triangle, and a freshman at MIT.
He's barely keeping it all together when a new case that he just can't refuse is dropped in his lap, particularly when he finds out it involves his friend, Ioke Nahalu.
Remember how every year when school started again, we had to write a stupid essay (with that title)? I don't think the teacher really cared what we did. They just wanted to see how much we had forgotten since the last year. I decided to do some research, and make sure my grade was an "A+". Editing magic by Pixel The Cat.
A Variation On A Theme Story (1) What if you had a second chance at life? Steve finds himself fourteen again, with a chance to do things differently. He quickly finds this new world isn't quite the same as the first time around. Can he make the most of this opportunity, and what does that even mean?
Family, friends, love, growth, change, loss, heartache, sadness, recovery, joy, failure, success, and more mix and mingle in a highly character-driven story that's part do-over, part coming-of-age.
A Life in Paradise Story (19) This story continues the "Life in Paradise" series. This story is narrated by Andrew Martin, the rookie receiver and younger brother of Kyle Martin. While adapting to life in the NFL, Andrew is on a quest to find a wife and a mother for six-year-old twins, so he can build a proper family. I will give away the ending. Andrew finds a bride. The story is in his journey from single dad living with his parents to a happily married father providing a good home for his family.
Readers from both sites suggested that I port some of my better received stories over here. And who doesn't love a do-over? Especially if you can clean up a slightly buggy original and incorporate reader feedback? I can't tell you why I got off on my Hemingway kick - probably lack of creativity on my part. But, I can't think of any story that would be harder to adapt than the Old Man and the Sea. So of course I had to try it. I hope you enjoy it - DT
When my brother and I found an old trunk in the attic of Grandma's house, he was interested in the WW II relics our grandfather brought back from the war. I was interested in the diary Grandpa's sister had written. It detailed things she did with her twin before he, too, went off to war. They weren't the kinds of things that were acceptable, then or now. But they excited me, and then they excited my brother. Somehow, what had happened between siblings 70 some odd years ago happened again.
