The narrative unfolds the tale of a 32-year-old compassionate and stunning humanitarian aid worker facing adversities after being marooned on Aprico Island, a secluded coastal island in Africa. This prologue, while not overtly explicit, provides context for the subsequent chapters.

The coming of age story of a girl losing her virginity to her foster family's pet and getting caught in the act. The event changes her forever and opens her eyes to whom and what she is. To her horror, she likes it.

It didn't seem possible that in this modern age, human beings would actually be hunting each other instead of wild animals. Zelda always felt sorry for the poor creatures of the wild that were outmatched against a long range rifle or even a high velocity compound bow with steel tipped arrows. Now she wished this group of heavily armed jerks would go after the animals and not her because she was afraid.
