An older neighbor accompanies a couple on a brief vacation. An inadvertent turn into the wrong side of town results in an unpleasant evening, but also to major changes to their small town lifestyles.
Two sixteen year old Mexican girls are captured by a couple of redneck vigilantes while crossing the border into the US illegally. They decide to hold on to the girls until their friend's upcoming bachelor party at the end of the week and offer them up as party favors to their friends.
Laurissa is having a bad day. After traveling to spend some ‘girl time’ with her best friend, she finds her friend has set her up with yet another blind date. Things get worse and Laurissa returns to her hotel room. A distortion in reality causes an alien gadget to appear in her room. Has Laurissa’a day gotten better or worse? Warning: this is a short story that I have broken into three brief chapters. Chapter 3 is still a little rough so suggestions are welcome.
It didn't seem possible that in this modern age, human beings would actually be hunting each other instead of wild animals. Zelda always felt sorry for the poor creatures of the wild that were outmatched against a long range rifle or even a high velocity compound bow with steel tipped arrows. Now she wished this group of heavily armed jerks would go after the animals and not her because she was afraid.
