First of nine parts; this is a tale of love lost and found. This is my second favorite from among the stories I've written and posted. I really my main characters here.
At a countryside birthday gathering, a group of young wives and friends unexpectedly meet a group of foreign businessmen. What begins as a formal encounter quickly turns into a night of temptation, secrets, and dangerous games that test loyalty, desire, and the fragile boundaries of marriage. As passions rise, each character is forced to confront hidden longings and choices that could change their lives forever.
I was sixteen and thought I had everything I ever wanted, but when my boyfriend, Mark, suggested that sharing our love with someone else would make it even better...That's when we fell in love with Chris, the new boy in school. After that, nothing in our lives would ever be the same.
Elizabeth Bradford teaches her younger brother Tommy how to kiss. But the lessons go further, despite the difficulty of hiding their activities in a crowded home. At last they get away by themselves. (Past reviewers have praised this story for its realistic depiction of life in a big family and how that would affect Elizabeth and Tommy's plans.)
Rob and Teri have been friends for years and grew up spending lots of time in the Sycamore tree reading in the treehouses they built. Now, in the very top of the tree, something happens and, as the wind blows, they give each other their virginity.
A story set in the Pinwheel Universe
An ecological engineer is transferred to the war-torn Rask territory, site of the deposed Matriarch's deadly rebellion, where he's tasked with helping to restore the damaged jungles. To his surprise, he's quickly put in command of a pack of ex-soldiers who are more concerned with jockeying for status than learning how to drive a tractor. Finding his place in the hierarchy might be just as hard as greening the desert.
Meg had been pretty unhappily married for a while now. She wasn't asking for the world, just a small sign that he actually gave a shit. Well, apparently he didn't, and she ended up drowning her sorrows with her best mate Kath.
Madeline, unable to stop grieving for her dead husband, boarded a stage coach for the month-long trip to California, where her sister lived. Among the other passengers were two cowboys who seemed to be too friendly with each other. And when a freak accident trapped the young widow with these two men in an old mine, she saw it as her moral duty to heal them of their affliction. The only problem was... they weren't afflicted.
An Uncle Bob Story Kathy's idea was to jerk her uncle's shorts down at the family reunion and embarrass him. It didn't occur to her that he might not be wearing underwear. So, when she yelled "GOTCHA!", everyone looked and saw the secret no one had known. Uncle Bob was a monster! Well part of him was monstrous anyway. And Kathy wasn't the only one to notice. / (Reviews)
