Janna Leonard: Stories

This is another of my stories about women together, this time of age and more certain about what they want and how to get it. As a fellow author put it, women are more likely to remember what led up to the act rather than the actual act itself, and the fact of remembrance brings pleasant tingles to the belly.

My first effort at writing more than 500 words, first published in 2003. It has been extensively edited and rewritten, courtesy of my editor, Keith S. Follow along as Cassie comes of age and learns about love. Oh, and try not to laugh too hard; this was my first try.

Life begins again for a mature woman because she dared to take a chance. The Chinese symbol for crisis is actually a combination of two others: danger and opportunity. If you see only danger, you miss the opportunity to share something worthwhile.

How does one woman get attracted to another? Pheromones play a part perhaps, but circumstances often play their role as well. How do you meet someone if you live in the middle of nowhere? They come to you, of course!

What would you do if you were changed into a woman without your permission, or actively seeking such a change? How would you cope? Who would you tell? Is "Hi Mom, it's me," enough of an explanation? This is a fantasy, because the Institute doesn't exist in Champaign or anywhere else, but it was fun to write. Codes are minimal and will be added as I go, the chapters will be posted as fast as they come back from the editor. Happy reading!

Although this story is fiction - fiction being defined as an imaginative creation or pretense - it would seem logical to me that there are women and girls whose lives are similar to those described herein. Young girls experiment, adults make mistakes, and sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. It's all part of what makes us human. I like to think of it as a love story.

Any relationship takes work on both sides, but those with alternative lifestyles seem to have the most difficult time finding a mate. Nature and nurture have conspired at times to thwart our best efforts, and those who succeed are fortunate. As you will see, even someone who is open about their sexuality has problems.

Have you ever made love with a sibling, a twin, or someone you've known literally all your life? Studies suggest that most siblings experiment with sexual play to a degree, and that usually ends when puberty arrives. Some I've known are different, and the bond between them links them together for their lifetime.
