Silver Wings includes some of my experiences in Vietnam during my first tour. I don't claim it to be biographical, but I figure I walked the walk so I can talk the talk a little.

World War III differed from its predecessors in that the United States had been sheltered from direct conflict during the previous two wars. Major James Keller, a former US Army Combat Engineer (Ranger), had left the military and was making a solid living as an Engineer. With keen insight into the political landscape and growing civil unrest, he prepared himself for the worst-case scenario, praying it would never come about—until it did.

Jim Reynolds has avoided accepting the moniker "Lucky Jim" for as long as he could, possibly too long. This fast-paced story is set in 2095 and covers the most important several months of his life. If you haven't read Lucky Jim I and II, large parts of this story won't make sense to you.
