Julia is a black nurse who's feeling lonely with her man away. Her attempts to solve the problem herself are frustrated by the demands of the doctor's office. At last she finds herself alone with a young white man who gets a more complete examination than he'd ever dreamed.

A young woman who goes to help her Aunt who had been relocated after losing everything in the Paradise fire stays on for a few months. But shortly before she leaves, she meets somebody and they rock each other's world.

"I wanted to thank him, also." "Oh, he's out of the house," I breezily replied. "He's a senior engineer for an oil company. He's always off setting up new sites, so he's away a lot, sometimes for weeks at a time. He won't be back for at least another week."
