This is a short story to cover an unfinished item in Connard Wellingham's story 'The Girls' School.' At the end of that story a young man badly misbehaves and then betrays a trust, placing many at risk. Those most affected by his behaviour get special help to extract a revenge for his betrayal; this is the start of that story. NB: This is well outside my comfort zone, see end note. A young man named Lu Ming lives a solitary, impoverished life following the death of his mother, whose health failed after his father, Lu Yaohua, abandoned them to marry the wealthy socialite Tang Wenyi.
