A story in the Religious Revelations Universe
An old journal written by a missionary in the Mid-Pacific reveals a very different and interesting island culture. He found a matriarchal (compassionate), polyandric, and pantheistic culture that had some better answers than he got from the Bible. That led to becoming an amateur sociologist. This writing is adapted from his 19th century journal.
The Girl-Guides (Girl-Scouts in the United States) is a great organization, concerned with the welfare and behavioral development of young ladies, preparing them for future social inter-action. Moving through the ranks from as young as eight years old, some girls come better equipped than others.
Pa had three sons who courted the girls at the neighboring farm. It was hard for them to pick three out of the five girls to marry. The girls had two sisters left behind so Pa marries both the two remaining girls. (I guess you can do that in fantasies and on scattered farms). Pa had to trade his daughter Annie in marriage to Zeke, the father of the 5 girls. Who gets which girl Pregnant is the essense of the story.
It was just supposed to be a one day cruise, but fate intervened and sent seven souls into the jaws of the Bermuda triangle and a future not at all certain.
