Jacqueline Jillinghoff may be the only author on SOL who would even dare to open a story with a quote from Walt Whitman, one that works perfectly with the piece.
This is one of JJ's little gems in her Danielle series. Danielle likes to get naked -- in public where she might get caught clothes-less. She's gotten naked in school (no, this is not part of the Naked in School universe) but now spring is here and she wants to get naked outside, only Daddy's made her promise not to.
To say that JJ captures Danielle's "voice" perfectly is understatement:
"I kept my promise to Daddy for a whole week, which I think was pretty good, but finally I had to give in. It was nighttime, though, so I told myself it didn't count."
The atmosphere, the feel of the story is perfect. You'll feel what Danielle is feeling -- the sights, the sounds, the scents, and the delicious wickedness of daring to venture out into the night, where Danielle makes an interesting discovery about herself.
It is short, it is sweet, and it is hot, a superb addition to JJ's collection.
I don't seem to have the opportunity to give it a Stroke value, but if I could it would be a 10+.
