Set immediately after the coronation, Darius and Amina return to the quiet spaces left behind by power. Walking the great shipyards up close, they follow a presence both ancient and restrained into a place few are invited to stand.

A squad of US soldiers gets lifted from certain death in Normandy to a weird planet by alien forces. They are ordered to fight the monsters they meet or to die. But all is not as it seems, the plot thickens, and the soldiers are happy with their lot. / (Reviews)

A story set in the Pinwheel Universe
James is new to the Pinwheel, and the first place he finds himself is the bar, where he meets a friendly Borealan named Datz. As he gets to know the rowdy alien, they're interrupted by her acquaintance, a Polar Borealan named Railha who seems intent on showing Datz up. James soon finds himself moderating a drinking competition between the two rival species, one that becomes increasingly sexual the drunker they become.

In a departure from my usual fare; this story was written at the request of a couple of fans. It centers around two warriors from a future battlefield yielding to their passion.

A story in the The Integration Era Universe
Nara Tholren spent three years alone on a frontier survey world, learning to watch and wait. When her company collapses, she enlists with the Meridian Enforcement Corps—flagged a Signal 13 anomaly. She takes the harder road: specialty assessment, real wash-out risk, no promises. Through training and a corporate operation gone wrong, she makes the shot no one ordered, ends the crisis, and the Integration names what it has logged since childhood. The watcher learns what she was waiting for.
