Fairy tales begin “Once upon a time, there lived....” War stories begin “This ain't no shit....” These tales are taken from both my own life and from stories shared with me by my brothers in arms. They served in various militaries: US Army, Navy and Marines, the French Foreign Legion, the Rhodesian Light Infantry, the Rhodesian SAS, SADF and others. Some were "trainers" for foreign troops. Some were "Security Guards". They have all passed now, but their stories deserve to live on. While I have taken some liberties in the interest of telling a good story, the stories are all based on true events as lived by or told to me. Til we all meet again at Fiddler's Green.
