After earning my degree I entered the engineer guild. That got me my first job in space, only it was far from friendly. When I found a problem with a lifeboat I should have checked it better. When the drill sounded during the night they kicked us free after disabling everything so we would die. Only I knew what I was doing and managed to save us. When we reached the next system it was to find the ship empty and the mutineers running. That was when I began to hunt them for what they had done.
Science has brought mankind to new heights. Science is the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe. Sometimes unlocking those mysteries are not always a good thing.
John Colshaw's wife suddenly divorces him, telling him he knows what he's done, but he doesn't, and his attempts to find out meet with rejection and even violence. Getting a job transfer proves advantageous, but this interferes with his quest for justice. Will discovering the truth make his life OK again? Not sure whether this story contains little sex, or some sex. Somewhere between?
A bard starting out on his own travels to the Elven lands. He finds a human army already there and hunting wild elves. He saves a half elven girl and continues into the forest. At one of the few bridges over a deep gorge he meets Elves. They warn him to leave because the human army was coming. He could not let such as those invade the elven lands and stands before the bridge. He faces the army alone and holds them until elven hunters come.
