A Poacher's Progress Story
This book follows on from Duel and Duality, and how Jack survived the duel is revealed. His life then becomes a series of surprising encounters and episodes. He meets some old friends and makes new ones, including females. He rubs shoulders with writers and meets a military genius. He revisits Waterloo, learns of the aphrodisiacal properties of cheese, and ploughs furrows- and madges. He avoids being fatally seduced, kills several more men, goes on a voyage, and he falls in love, again.

Vic was born and raised in an odd commune. His father and 'uncles' were planning on surviving WW III. Vic took to the survivalist mentality and learned to fight. When he grew older he was thrilled with the power of explosives and studied chemistry as a way of following this path. A king facing defeat in the forth century Europe needed help. He gathered a few real mages to find a way out of his problems. It was Vic's attributes that were soon being sought. / (Reviews)

A few of you wanted a western. So here it is. He was a blue water sailor. She was a New Orleans fancy lady. There was gold in them thar hills and they were aimin' to find it. They also found love on the Santa Fe trail. Of course, there were a few lingering wrongs to right and some scores to settle. But in the end, "Until death do us part," really meant something.
