I stared straight out of the front windscreen but I could see her hand move over her hair in a nervous way. Inside, I smiled for I've been having that effect on women since I turned fourteen.
"I'm not a mind reader," those were the words my mother said to me on my fourth birthday when I didn't get those toy solders I wanted. Up to then I thought everybody could read minds, no one talked about it but then you don't say I can see or hear either; It was a very confusing time for me.
