Discontent, disgust, desperation, can trigger violent reactions. Desperate people do desperate things. Sometimes, their desperation leads to scorched earth tactics. Hopefully a lovely phoenix will arise from the ashes.

Lewis is sat watching the lively picnic while his wife Shelly is socialising among relatives. The drinks come round and what he's offered seems to have a magical effect on the rest of his day! ... Lewis joins his mother for dinner at her hotel and then stays the night! ... ... By the time dawn arrives his future has changed! He finds himself running a diamond mine, in South Africa! ... ... A long slow pot boiler ... enjoy!

This is basically the same as Dawn of the Deer, but re-written into what I hope is a much better paced and less ambiguous story. I am leaving the original here as well, as a mark of the changes which occur in all of us over 26 years.
