Hi, I'm Wendy, Fly Me. This story is one of the Tales from The Shack, and is posted In LW to keep it with the others. This works fine as a standalone, though it precedes "Gun Gun Teddy Bear." I typically don't write graphic sex into this story line and that remains true here. Special thanks to Sbrooks and PCB for editing and beta reading, and to Luedon for Australian slang assistance. Railroad workers and firemen struggle against fire, storm, and failing equipment to battle a raging fire in an isolated northwoods town. This was written to show that a thrilling action-adventure yarn can be written without ANY sex or interpersonal violence. "G" rated, except for a little rough language.

If you can suspend your disbelief and enjoy reading about heroes, Navy SEALs, football, surgeons, pirates, actors, and even honest politicians, you may enjoy this story. A Poacher's Progress Story An unanticipated stay in Aden is enlivened by Rollo Guest's story. Another voyage takes Mimi and Jack to Madras, a different continent and many surprising discoveries, not all unpleasant. A murderous religious sect and a reincarnation of a goddess ensures their stay in the country is memorable, as are the characters they meet, including a couple of old friends. Jack plumbs the depths of despair before the conclusion of his quest. An ending contains the embryo of new beginnings.
