Pēteris - Chapter 6: Reality

In tomorrow's chapter, the trio finally arrive on Chaos and verify the place is real.

You will find out why Pēteris says, "Remind me never again to take a knife to a sword fight!"

Miriam and Robyn discover in the aftermath of danger, that violence and killing made them exceptionally horny.

Pēteris - Chapter 5: Sealing The Deal

In Chapter 5 we find out if the family will have one or two Heroes. Melody is made happy, and Soo-Min tries to put a move on Pēteris.

Voting: The update of feedback so far is -

* Emails and comments are positive. Specific likes were appreciated.

* One blatant and serious typo that a gazillion proof readings didn't catch. (Thanks for catching and reporting it.)

* After chapter two the score went over 8.0 then after chapter three dropped back to 7.75. I can't tell if that was content or length - there are indications of both. Please vote and comment or email after you read Chapter 4. It will really help me.

Some of you know that I am one of Number 7's proof readers. I just got a new chapter to review. Look for him to post soon.

Pēteris - Chapter 4: Recruiting A Caretaker

Chapter 4 is in the queue to appear tomorrow - Tuesday. As promised, it is a longer one. Normally, it would pop up sometime after 7 PM CST, but I'll try to goose it for earlier.

Soo-Min Hero Greeter returns, dragging a reluctant Caretaker candidate who isn't in the pool but meets Pēteris' specifications. (Yeah, I know this is different in almost every respect, but if it was always the same, where would be the fun?)

Anyway, the dragooned candidate is a Cassandra-quality beauty, über smart, a virgin, fertile, and thinks herself to be frigid.

Game on for Pēteris and his lovelies....

Pēteris - Chapter 3: Finding Crossroads

Chapter 3 is in the queue for tomorrow. Pēteris and his two ladies arrive on Crossroads and meet Hero Daniel's Caretaker, Melody. They also meet Soo-Min Hero Greeter, who is tasked with finding a Caretaker to match Pēteris' exacting requirements.

This is a short chapter, but Tuesday's is loooong.

My apologies for accidentally turning on the "premium" feature. It is now off. Some folks tell me that they still can't see Chapter 2 on this Home Page, but you can access it through the "all new stories" link at the bottom of the Home page, or by going to my home page by clicking my name.

Pēteris - Chapter 2: Recruiting A Hero

I intended Chapter 1 to appear last night, but was late enough that I passed the moderators' bedtime. No big deal.

Chapter 2: Recruiting A Hero will be submitted as soon as I finish this note. In it Pēteris learns a little about Chaos and is tempted to go to Crossroads and learn more. This is a short chapter and one of the reasons I'm going to daily posting.

Here is a peek behind the voting curtain. Please understand this is not a complaint, but an explanation of why your vote is important (as are your comments and feedback.) I say behind the curtain, because authors can see voting results earlier than you can.

Shortly after Pēteris appeared there were 132 downloads and 4 votes. All were 7 or higher, but the score was 6.36. An hour later, there were 211 downloads with 8 votes. Again, all were above 7 or above, and the score was 7.68. I can see how many votes were for each rating, but that isn't important for you to understand what I'm trying to say. The score that you see is not an average, but a comparison to ratings for other stories.

I don't get a big ego boost from a particular score. Sure I like a high score, but, more to the point, I can use the score changes from one chapter to another to judge and adjust my approach and subject matter.

So folks, your votes are important to me and to others, particularly new writers. Please take the time at the end of each chapter, or at least each story to vote and give us yet another tool. Consider your vote to be an investment, not a payment...

One more thought: I could never have predicted how much fun I'd have writing these stories. Your enjoyment is almost a by-product. If any of you are tempted to jump in the author pool, I urge you to do it. It took me 68 years, and I glad I finally did.

As I wrap this up and proceed to sending Chapter 2, the statistics stand at 328 downloads, 19 votes, and an overall score of 7.78. Isn't technology interesting?

Looks like you folks are liking the story. Thanks!
