I had a most insightful email today. As a result, I'm stepping up my posting. Until we reach the last two chapters, I've set to post two chapters each day. The story will finish next Monday - April 3rd.


Why the change? Several of you expressed frustration with the extended posting, and I interpreted it as impatience - like I often feel when reading serials. Then I received this:


"I have read several of your stories now. For the first time with Peteris, I am reading it as you publish it. While your story is pretty awesome,it is broken up like a George Lucas DVD/Blu-Ray...aka tons of little chapters. That would be fine if we were watching one chapter after the next. But when you post them like you do it causes un-intentional lurches in the story."


Now you can stick with reading the daily postings, or wait until Monday (April 3rd) and read from start to finish.


I honestly don't know what this will mean long-term for future stories, but I get it. Do let me know if this helps. Maybe I can structure future chapters better so that they don't feel choppy.


This is a learning experience for me. I appreciate any feedback you give me.


Tomorrow, look for Chapter 12: More Preparations in addition to the previously announced The Farm.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) - Pēteris has acquired a farm, and that's not all. Sarah insists, perhaps legitimately, that she is too sore to ride astride and convinces Pēteris that she should ride sidesaddle in his arms.

Then, the farm is more than it seems. And what about Cherry?

Chapter 10 is in the queue for tomorrow. I'm letting you know now, because some of you helpful readers have been telling me when you spot a typo or other error that I missed. Those reports are always acted on, and I wanted to let you know that I saw one and uploaded a fix to today's chapter - a duplicated sentence.

Sometimes the goof is mine, sometimes it is in the uploading. This time something happened to the upload. You help us all when you report 'stuff'. I appreciate your attention to detail and your willingness to take the effort to let me know.

Chapter 10: You will recall that Pēteris asserted that 'bastards have brothers!' Indeed they do, and Robyn gets her wish to be include in the 'whoop ass'.

Chapter 9 is in the queue for Sunday and is a little longer than the last few.

Pēteris arrives at the town near where they will find a source of the additional ingredients needed to complete their treatment for cock burners. Against his better judgement, they acquire dependents - so his Chaos family grows.

Three bad brothers are in this one.

In chapter 8, luck rather than skill helps Pēteris and his entourage respond when they are ambushed. This fight is rather bloody, so a communal bath is organized. Who is going to wash who? Wanna make a bet?
