I changed my mind. Through the USA's long Independence Day weekend, a new chapter will post each day, then move to a chapter every other day schedule. Look for chapter 2 early tomorrow (Friday) morning.

I'm finally satisfied with Mutiny On The Bunte Kuh and will place chapter one in the Queue as soon as this blog entry posts. The story is finished at twelve chapters long, and will post every other day until complete.

In addition to a character list at the end of the story, I'll post one in my blog after a few chapters.

As with almost all my stories, there are characters and situations from earlier stories, and this is no exception. The authors in the Swarm Cycle have been very generous with their loan of characters, situations, and advice. We all owe them thanks.

Almost exactly two years ago, I started writing this story. It isn't all that long, but I kept getting distracted.

I just sent it to my editors and hope to have it up and going before too long.

The question - With an AI monitoring everything on a Confederacy ship, can there really be a mutiny? If so, what happens next?

I have two stories in the works and both include characters from previous stories as well as introducing some new ones.

The draft of next one likely to post is almost ready for my editors. It involves two concepts, either might be nixed by the Swarm authors group - but probably not... The first involves an actual mutiny on a Confederacy ship - how is that possible? It also has Inkie setting the stage for a Tuull cultural exchange program.

The second story, more likely to challenge Swarm Cycle canon is about an Anne McCaffrey type brain ship. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, start with her The Ship Who Sang.) So far, it has one scene describing part of Pern - the Harrad Colony's new planet.

Whether in these two stories or others, I'm looking for 1) characters you'd like to see again and maybe scenarios involving them and 2) Open plot points from Bob or previous stories that you think need exploring.

No promises. For one thing I need to fit characters and scenarios consistent with stories already published. I'm not thinking about dragons or similar on Pern, but am injecting Heinlein's conceptual "Dopey Joes/Stobor" from Tunnel In The Sky.

Anyway, several of you have commented about open plot lines, desire to see characters again, etc. Here's your chance.
