As I've recently had a couple of messages asking if I am okay, the answer is 'yes', I am okay, all safe, busy with dogs, life, and avoiding the apocalypse.
Luke, Stef, Leri, et al remain in my thoughts, but I know my head just isn't where it should be, and I really don't want to screw this up for the sake of publishing something/anything.
So I still think and plan and sketch, and the Greyshough will pick up, but not until I'm ready to do it as I know once I do, obsession will take over and I don't have that energy at this time.
Meanwhile, stay safe folks.

For those who might be wondering, I'm still around, just not really able to get into the mood for writing Wilhelm at the moment. At it's core, this is a story of incest with a hint of mystery, a piece of enjoyable fluff that needs a light touch. Given what's going on right now, I know better than to try and force things as my mind isn't there.
So.
To try and keep my 'writing muscles' from atrophying I've been noodling around with other things, projects that, if they don't work out, can easily be abandoned. One is of a redhead who moves to a small town and shakes things up a little with her 'adventures'. The other is something prompted by the news that since the lockdown hit, OnlyFans has seen a lot of new content providers starting up. You never really know what your neighbours are up to, and this is the story of such a woman who knocks her neighbour's door in a moment of need. It also features plushies and maybe furries.
Short version, Wilhelm is on hold until life gets more 'normal' again, but I'm still writing something even if it never sees the light of day.
And dog walking, of course.

A brief heads up to let people know that the rewrite of Wilhelm Scream is about to begin posting under the title Greyshough, Redux.
For those who have already read this, nothing of importance really changes until around chapter 15, though there are some contextual changes reflective of the re-aging of Luke, et al, throughout.
Additionally this story will post as one long book, so Wilhelm Sonata chapters will start appearing after chapter 15.
NB: If I can figure out how to do a table of contents, this might get laid out differently, but essentialy this story will contain Scream, Sonata, and the as-yet unwritten conclusion Stone.

No, Wilhelm hasn't been forgotten or anything like that.
Instead, today the first chapter of Linden's story goes up, something I wrote as a palate cleanser, as a way to try different ways of writing, and to get into writing really quick-moving dialogue.
No idea when chapter two will show up, but it ends on a natural pause so there won't be any kind of cliffhanger waiting for the continuation. And yes, there is a continuation, just no clear conclusion yet as it began as an exercise that I thought I'd share and so was quite open-ended other than the vague stumbling towards a happily ever after.
So for now Ted and Linden are getting to know about each other and are going to enjoy quite the month in the country, and I go back to editing Wilhelm.

For those waiting with bated breath for more Wilhelm, the aforementioned rewrite of Scream is progressing nicely with only minor hiccups. I'm presently just over the half-way mark, and once the whole of Scream has been rewritten I'll start posting that and take down Stone, leaving Scream up 'as is' for those who stumble upon it as a 3rd placed category Clitorides winner.
Interesting, the rewrite with Luke, et al, being 'aged up' a little had freshened the story for me, and between that and the minor changes and polishes being incorporated, the process has lost the 'grind' and regained the 'grand'.
Moving forward, what would have been Stone will need more rewriting than Scream as a lot of things require adjustment, but again, this should help keep things fresh for me. As for what would have been the third book - Sonata - this exists only in terms of ideas, scenes, and an as yet undecided climax to Luke's story. At the moment it can go in one of several directions, with the most likely being slightly open-ended thereby allowing me to return to these characters again one day, and also providing the jumping off point for more stories connected to the Devices, some of which are already in outline.
So I'm not dead, I'm doing okay, the rewrite is fun, and as ever, when it's ready, I'll post.
Cheers...Clee
