Especially in the numbers and size that climbed up for us to see and protect ourselves from.

When a extremely good thief has a death warrant issued on him it is time to find out why and by who. When the team leader that is trying to terminate the death warrant gives up names he finds the reason. That causes him to issue a few death warrants of his own and to send a clear message.

A thousand years ago demons crossed using a realm gate. We were lucky then because there was an army there to stop them. I was a scout and this year was my turn to go to the valley known as Demon Crossing to look for signs they were returning. When I found them I thought we would have time. I never thought I would be the one to face the demon army and try to close the realm gate.

The demon line was built to defend and encircle our whole country. It took twenty years to build and sat for another thirty before the enemy to the north attacked. We took the brunt of the attacks while our army gathered. Despite spies and infiltrators we were the only thing standing between the enemy and our land.

Defenders are those trained to fight against evil and the tide of darkness. When I killed the eggs of a demon queen she sends her soldiers to kill me. From a demon child to were beasts and soldier demons, that is what I faced. Of course now we have to find the answer of why and where the queen was before we could fight back.

It should have been an easy job with extra benefits but when the kill team struck that night everything changed.
