He asks Bob to take care of his new wife Val's needs when he goes off to war but with a few conditions of his own.

I suddenly decided to go home for the weekend, but I clean forgot to call ahead and warn Mom. (This is a much shorter version of "Spring Break in New England"; it doesn't contain any of the suspense and angst. A nice easy read, I hope.)
