It got his attention. (Note - several readers have asked me to repost this story as it seemed to get lost when the site went down a little while back).

John White Wolf Oglethrope is half Indian by blood but all Apache by temperment. His parents died at the instigation of Cyrus Harkins. White Wolf is trained as an Apache warrior and vows revenge on Harkins when he becomes an Apache adult at the age of 13. Outwardly, White Wolf becomes a White man as he works to exact his revenge and make life better for his Apache extended family. His village needs money, so White Wolf becomes a bounty hunter.

Before he met her there were only two things in his life of any value: his Flathead Harley and his Navy Luger. He should have left it at that.

Tom & Tim are 12. Becoming inseparable, they do everything together, until they enter college. Tim's sister Breanne is 3 years younger. When the boys are seniors, she's a freshman. They protect her from the boys, like 2 big brothers. Tom acts indifferent, but deep down, he cares for Breanne. Tom goes to college, Tim joins the Army, but they remain close. Breanne marries but loses her mate overseas. Tim, concerned for Breanne, asks Tom to check on her at Valentines, while he's deployed.
