Slow Stories

The location is true, an amazing inland waterway of slow tidal rivers and shallow interconnected lakes. The places mentioned are mostly true, the bridge definitely is. I've renamed some things and moved one or two around. Three teenage girls and one boy go sailing. At first it genuinely is for the sailing; clearly three girls will be safe with only one boy, unless of course they are the hunters and he is the prey.

An explosion and fire leaves Cosette, 10, and her mom Syl in crisis, they stay with their divorced neighbor Julie. But where's Sette's dad (Theo)? At Julie's, her ex-husband and his gorgeous admin (now his 2nd wife) visit often, staying, uh, overnight. Together in her bed. Really? How does that even work? Theo is back; he's studly in bed but unemployed, they're at risk for homelessness. Fond of Sette, Julie worries. What to do? (No under 18 sex.)

I should apologise to Richard Curtis for borrowing the idea for the first part of this work from a story-strand of his film 'Love Actually'.
