Sometimes a search brings up stories that would otherwise never get a first, let alone a second look. Personally this story contains a theme guaranteed to put me off. Not just religion, but the Catholic Church. So why did I find myself reading it?

Simply put it is an exceptionally well written story. The author has managed to create scenes that cause the reader joy and sadness, not to mention pause for thought. All of that without either preaching or detracting from the story.

So, to sum up, if you enjoy a well crafted story with believable characters, give this one a chance, it's worth it.
