A story in the Catalum Universe
A rogue from another universe is attempting to spread the alarm of an impending Kryptonian invasion. The Catalum ship is not impressed.
A slave acts when their ship is captured by pirates. He knew touching or using weapons meant death and accepted it. What he got was freedom and a new life.
A cargo master accepts two crates that are paid in full. On the way to the next system pirates attack the ship but they turn the tables on them. At the next port the merchant fails to pick up the crates. Once the ships lifts he finds two girls in the crates and his life is changed.

Back in 2014, one of the "Swarm Cycle" writers' email group posted most of a short story. I finished it for my own entertainment. It's been ten years. If anyone can find it elsewhere I'll pull this. Oh, Science Fiction War Drama.

A Swarm Cycle Story
Evacuate 17-year-old Drew; he is far too valuable to leave behind. His autism prevents him from doing it alone. Sharon has her own reasons to get him ready for the responsibility of overseeing a bunch of concubines. She’s got a year to build a harem that will assist Drew in reaching his full potential. For him to concentrate solely on the daunting task of destroying the Sa’arm, all the concubines would be required to collaborate, operating as a unified and efficient team.
