As a desperate measure to save humanity from extinction, Dr. Olson releases a virus into the population that makes girls go into heat -- craving a great deal of sex during their rare fertile periods. This is a precedes "A Pam Sandwich." I think the stories work if read in either order. However, this story provides the basis for her reactions to what happened to her in "A Pam Sandwich".
