Unfortunately, the characters are what they are. A hormonal daughter, a father with a low opinion of himself and a mother who's found herself searching for whatever elusive thing has been missing from her life. And damned if it doesn't quietly pull in facets from my favorite universe...

Due to the wishes of both parents, a shorter than average teen boy gets a job at a Dude Ranch outside Reno. Though his father has no clue, and could care less, since he wasn't the big strapping man the father wanted, mom knew what she was setting me up for. The ranch, outside of Reno, featured cowboys, mounting, riding, along with happy women, since it was a ranch and brothel, for the ladies to have fun at.
The valley was seething with conflict. At first, it seemed the settlers and the cowboys were the story, but then the sheepherders moved in and the farmers took second fiddle to the war between the Texas Consortium and the remnants of the old Cattleman's Association now tending the flocks of sheep that slowly destroyed the eco-system.
