This is an awful story. Writing it was cathartic, and shockingly some people have alleged to enjoy it, but it's not happy. A teenage girl recounts her mother's abuse at the hand's of a lecherous stepfather and his three evil sons, culminating one awful night during a twenty-something aunt's visit.

Anna, her husband and daughter are on their way into town to sell some clothes she has designed for the Saturday and Sunday Marked in Portland. Something goes wrong. They are abducted by a Ted Kaczynski character. She is coerced into humiliating acts to protect her daughter.

Lady Mary and her entire family are victims of "The Gunpowder Plot". One of the many innocents caught up in the strife of religious warfare caused by the Reformation. She is determined to survive and secure justice from the opportunists who have destroyed her family and her heritage.
