A Dryad Story
As the title suggests, this is one of those sequels which won't make a lot of sense if you haven't read 'Chloe and Burt' and perhaps more of the Dryad series. Their abilities and their relationship develop and become clearer.

A deadly virus is loose in the solar system. If left unchecked, it could kill all life on Earth and her colonies on Mars, Luna, and Venus. Created as the ultimate weapon, it got loose and wiped out an entire colony. Only one person has the skills, the brains, and the political backing to do what needs to be done to stop the virus, but he's only eleven years old. He's got some training to do.

I had been sitting in the food court when I was nearly hit by falling boxes. Offering to help triggered an outburst from an angry young woman. "What, you see a cripple and think you have to help? What do you know about handicaps? Why don't you shut up and leave me alone!" she screamed. The entire food court was silent. I didn't respond, just got my cane from a chair where I'd left it. As I was leaving the food court I heard, "Please stop!" The words weren't quite so angry now.
