A Clar war Story
I was small and never thought it would make me special. Of course the job they wanted me for was extremely dangerous. There is nothing like crawling into a hole and never knowing if an enemy soldier would be waiting or some trap. There were benefits too, like taking things we found or finding enemy intel that could stop an attack or turn the tide of the war.

It started with a mission gone bad and a traitor. My father's enemies were a step ahead and used fleet admirals to dishonor me. When I learned the admiral that had been the judge had been ordered to do it I had to act. First against the noble that I thought ordered it. Of course he was a coward and would send someone. After him it was another noble that had been behind him and I wanted it to be personal.

A young man starts a job as a constable in a city with nightly fog. Besides having to learn from his partner, they have a killer that is hunting women on their beat. The first time they meet it is with a body of a woman. The second was when he flees and he is almost caught. That is when the killer begins to stalk the constable and it is his turn to set a trap.

My father worked with mages and I had been around them all my life. I had ideas and questions but I also wanted to serve in the air service. I did have dreams of being a pilot but they were only dreams. At least until I showed my adopted uncle my ideas and then my dreams became real. Rus had been pushing back and we were holding them but my ideas were about to change the war and take it to them.

Conceived when the queen sought revenge my life was one of rejection and isolation. I was loved by my mother and treated fairly. When a surety for a trade agreement comes she reluctantly agrees to send me with the nomads. Only we did not know her nobles were plotting to kill her and take the crown.

Edited by Bird Dog The sudden invasion by the Dark sent the whole population scrambling. Our colony was a few hundred years old with several abandoned military bases. The one I went to was hidden inside a mountain. That was where I found a way to fight back and try to stop the Dark.
