He is a coward, opportunistic, money hungry and cynical user of women who finds himself in charge of the BCOF's (British & Commonwealth Occupying Force) vice and liquor and licencing section. A necessary setup because of the 400,000 American and 40,000 Commonwealth soldiers stationed there. It was a marriage made in heaven, Dracula running the blood bank, a child let loose in a candy shop or even worse. These are his memories.

A Sherwin's Falls Story
One Monday, the residents of Sherwin's Falls woke up to find that someone had set up a ten-foot plywood fence all around the entire O'Shaughnessy property, across from the church, including the pond, the falls themselves and all the land around the spring that fed the falls. Since then, big trucks with earth hauling equipment have been going in and out all day and the residents are inundated by construction noise. What in the world is happening? Who is doing this?

The most popular slogan in the post Civil War period was "Gone to Texas" or simply "GTT" because the promise of living in a free society without restrictions of too much government was too tempting to resist.
