The congregation of the Church of Redemption includes many good people and some not so good. The new pastor, Reverend JJ Gillis and Lieutenant John Flett are independently caught up in the various intrigues and their perception of sexual morality undergoes a major transformation.
The customs of all cultures seem strange and for little purpose when viewed from outside their context. Ceremonies and rites of passage matter tremendously to those inside, but to the rest of us, we just starch our heads. This is a short story of one such custom as seen through the eyes of the principal involved. Sure we can wonder why, but in this case I say, Why not?
