Four years ago, Griffin’s mother, Ashley Barrett, divorced his dad for the bright lights of Hollywood. She went to Southern California for plastic surgery on her nose after an accident and fell in love with the area. Dad said she met someone with money, and he wasn’t sorry she was gone. Grif, as everyone calls him, agreed.

Becky comes to see her friend after school. Kev, the dad, is at home and keeps her company after lying about how long his daughter will be out. He asks her about her sex life, and adds to her experiences by seducing her with gentle foreplay followed by great sex.

A long story about two people's lives, from age 5 to late-teens. It uses a series of self-contained incidents, in more or less chronological order, to demonstrate how the bond between them developed over time. Some of these incidents are of a mildly sexual nature, although there is only one, non-graphic reference to underage sex featuring one of the central characters.
