I believe there are basically three types of stories for this site.
First, non fiction. Self explanatory.
Second, fiction that is not possible in the world we live in. At the very least, it's most likely not to happen in our society. The exception to this could be a disclaimer that allows the reader to change our societal views prior to the beginning of the story.
Finally, fiction that attempts to be as close as possible to non fiction. The storyline may have a few peculiar items, but tries to be real and entertaining simultaneously.
I'm not as much of a stickler for proper grammar as others may be. I most likely will never mention this in a review unless it is really horrific. However, spell checker is on every computer. Use it. Reading your story a few times will also help.
My two pet peeves are simple. If your story is chronological, make sure to stick to a proper timeline. If you have a character say they are going to do something, have them do it. If they don't complete the action/task, tell us why they didn't.
