This is truly an epic series, the planning, complexity, level of detail and imagination required to write it is incredible and I'm very impressed by the author. I love how important morals/ethics are in this story, but the MC is such a cocky, disrespectful, stupid douchtarde (the author's word) that I ended up hating him around half way through the story.

He says nothing is more important than family and friends so why did he not end up going to USC to live with them? It almost seems like the MC wants to be miserable, he really was a 'stupid boy' at times and needed to pull his head out of his ass.

IMO this story would be much better if there was far less detail written about his daily life (i.e. lengthy descriptions about how he cooks, what he eats, background on locations he goes to, etc) and the time frame was extended from his 4 years in high school to a much longer period. The total amount of words used for the story would be good if it covered a dozen years of his life but as the story is now, it seemed to move at a snail's pace and was boring much of the time.

My other major critique of the story is that it doesn't have an ending. The story really grabs your attention and you desperately want to find out what happens so the lack of an ending is tragic. After reading (skimming through the less interesting details unfortunately) through millions of words I can't help but feel cheated after being left hanging and left to wonder how it played out. I do realize the story is free and have no right to complain but I would be remiss not to mention this in an honest review.

Anyway, the author has amazing talent but this story ended up being disappointing.

EDIT: Well, it looks like there is a sequel series called 'A Better Man' which details some of his college life but it looks like the story still progresses far too slowly. Please, please move the story along more quickly. :)

What happened?

This two word question can be asked for an immediate reply to a very recent action.

In the case of "Stupid Boy" I think it can be asked multiple times regarding many unanswered questions.

The story itself about a Midwestern boy who enjoys a rewarding 4 years of high school through luck and hard work is enjoyable. There's love, pain, loss, reward and for good measure a splash of sex.

The main character, David A Dawson is likable. He has charisma, is charming, wants to do the right thing, and is a good friend. He also makes many errors, some bigger than others. But what high school boy doesn't? His escapades are fun. His adventures are definitely adventurous. His life is never boring. There's only one thing missing.... an ending.

What happened?

This story is ready for continuation. And it needs it.
