About Jim S:
I'm American, retired and love to read. I've had a love affair with books, more recently digital media, ever since high school.
Storiesonline asks reviewers to grade along the lines of plot, story quality and appeal to the reviewer. This is really a good framework on which to judge any writing. I like stories that have a flow to them from beginning to end, meaning one wrapped around a theme. From there, good English is a must. This means good diction, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Obvious misspellings or homonymic errors are big no-nos. And "their" instead of "they're"? C'mon. That was taught in high school (if not sooner), right?
I'm mainly here for the erotic stories. I think the stroke stories should be held to the same standards as the less erotic/non erotic ones. Does if have a plot? Is it well written? Does it affect me strongly? When all three are present, you have a good story. Which this reviewer will attempt to impart to the reader. That said, this site offers a wide variety of stories and I'm constantly surprised at the high quality of the writing in many of them.
